Rev. Damien Dyson, Sr. is a dedicated servant of God, a committed family man, and a
seasoned law enforcement professional. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Rev.
Dyson pursued his early education in both New Orleans, LA, and McKinney, TX,
shaping his foundation for a life of service.
With over 24 years of experience in law enforcement, Rev. Dyson has served with
distinction in multiple capacities. His career includes tenure with the St. Charles Parish
Sheriff’s Office, where he attained the rank of Corporal and served as a School
Resource Officer. Additionally, he served with the Louisiana State Police as Detail
Sergeant, working in Executive Security for Governor Bobby Jindal. Rev. Dyson also
worked with the Orleans Criminal District Court Intensive Probation, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office
Criminal Patrol Division and currently serves with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office with the rank of Sergeant in
the Criminal Investigations Division.
In addition to his law enforcement career, Rev. Dyson has faithfully dedicated his life to
ministry and spreading the Gospel. He faithfully served as an Associate Minister at Holy
Faith Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. J.C. Dyson, Sr. Answering
the call to preach, he was licensed in December 2015 and later ordained on May 4,
2018, under the auspices of the Ideal Missionary Baptist and Educational Association.
Rev. Dyson is passionate about theological education and has pursued academic
excellence in this field. He is a graduate of American Theological Seminary &
International University, where he earned his B.S. in Humanities and a Master of Divinity.
Currently, he is furthering his studies at The College of Biblical Studies,
Houston, Tx., working toward another bachelor’s degree in biblical counseling.
On April 18, 2024, Rev. Dyson answered the call to pastor The Trinity United Missionary
Baptist Church and was installed as Pastor on April 28, 2024, under the auspices of the
Ideal Missionary Baptist and Educational Association, Inc. Rev. Dyson also serve as the recording secretary
for the Ideal Missionary Baptist and Educational Association and is a member of the Baptist Pastor's Conference
of New Orleans and Vicinity.
Beyond his professional and ministerial roles, Rev. Dyson is a devoted husband to Lady
Minerva Martin Dyson and a proud father to his two sons, Damien "DJ" Dyson, Jr. and
Darin Dyson. His life mission is to save souls, impact lives, and fulfill God’s divine
purpose through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Rev. Dyson continues to lead with
faith, wisdom, and a heart devoted to the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
